The Path to Success
A child born in Texas is more likely to fail than in almost any other state. TSTA has a plan to change that. more

80th Session Ends:
Major Threats Defeated, But Slow Progress Leaves Unfinished Business

Last year, Texas voters made it clear that public education is their top priority, and thanks to your efforts in both the primary and general elections, we saw a dramatic increase in the number of our pro-education allies in the Texas House. Due in large part to our work in the 2006 elections, TSTA members were able to call on legislators this year to make a real difference on major issues that directly impact educators and our public schools.  Watch for your Summer Advocate at the end of June for a wrap up.

2007 Poll: Texans Know It's Not 'Mission Accomplished'
TSTA President Donna New Haschke told Capitol reporters in February that Texas voters believe the legislature’s school finance plan last year represented, at best, a first step. Our press conference is based on findings of a poll conducted by two national pollsters, one a Democrat and the other a Republican.  Click on POLL to see the results.  You'll be pleasantly surprised . . .

Is your salary important to you?

Is it important that you are covered by a good health insurance plan? Do you want to make sure that when you retire you will be able to live on your retirement benefits?

These are some of the many educational  issues that TSTA PAC deals with in Austin. With a strong PAC, TSTA can continue the lobbying efforts on behalf of its members and the public schools of Texas.

You can become  a Continuing Contributor by giving through bank draft or payroll deduction. You  may also make a one-time contribution to the fund.

TSTA dues money cannot be used to elect public officials, so we must count on our members to  contribute  to  our fund.

This fund allows TSTA to work at the legislature for the common good of our members and the children of Texas!
